Our Sisterhood is a vibrant and diverse community of women united by a shared belief in the power of friendship, collaboration, and connection. Together, we design and lead programs that inspire, unite, and enrich the lives of women within our synagogue and beyond. Through support, learning, social action, shared interests, fun, and fundraising, we foster the social, spiritual, and educational growth of women in our congregation—creating a warm, empowering, and inclusive environment for all.

We proudly bring together Jewish women of all generations with a common goal: to build “Kehila” by meaningful relationships, support our synagogue and children, and give back—both financially and through hands-on involvement—to the broader Jewish and non-Jewish communities.

We’re honored to be part of Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ), the women’s affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism. WRJ connects more than 65,000 women in over 500 groups across North America and beyond, amplifying our collective voice and impact.

You’re always welcome to join any of our Sisterhood programs—no membership required! But by becoming a member, you help make it all possible and support the wonderful programs we bring to the community.

Serving the Community

When you join Shir Hadash Women, your membership dues go far beyond our group—they help strengthen Shir Hadash and make a meaningful impact on the wider Jewish community.

Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to fund camperships that allow children from our congregation to attend Jewish summer camps, contribute to our synagogue’s capital campaign, and respond to various needs within our community.

Our outreach also extends beyond our congregation. We proudly support the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) YES Fund, which helps sustain vital programs both locally and globally. The YES Fund contributes to:

  • Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) – Youth engagement programs like NFTY and KESHER
  • Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC) – Advocating for social justice
  • Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) – Supporting rabbinic and cantorial scholarship programs in North America
  • World Union for Progressive Judaism – Strengthening Reform congregations around the world, including in Israel and the former Soviet Union

Together, we are making a difference—within our walls and far beyond.
